The conscious, inner, true, and normal man does not fight for fame, praise, or recognition in their thoughts, words, and actions, because they know that what needs to be done must be done, and, like our Initiation Master, they too must be able to say, "It is finished." They understand that success or failure, victory or defeat, profit or loss, pleasure or pains are mere concepts that must be transcended. They know that they must act not for the sake of life’s goals, but for the sake of existence itself. They act in a way that allows the One to act within them. Their task is to seek what is true both here and beyond, to find their home. As Master Eckhart says about the inner person: “Be as a little child / Close your ears, shut your eyes / Annihilate your selfish nature / Then even your possessions you can abandon / Leave behind time and space / And all images / Go where no path leads / Blaze your own trail / And you will find your way in this desert.”
The following
are some characteristics of the true and normal man:
1. Conscious and knows themselves: In Delphi, people asked for
prophecies about their future, curious about their destinies. The oracle
answered: "Know yourself, and you will know your destiny." You are
your destiny. External forces do not rule over you; the gods are within you,
and your character and personality shape your future. Change yourself, and your
destiny will change. Be the change. Accept yourself, and you will be able to
accept your destiny as well. The essence of life is to know the One and Only
within us. Even if the inner person sometimes loses their spiritual awareness
or compassion, they must always maintain self-control and reconnect with their
universal self. Whatever troubles they face, the greatest challenge is always
they. How can we hope to know another person if we don’t know ourselves?
2. Pure-hearted: If the inner person is free and unburdened by any
disordered emotions, nothing will stand in the way of their path to initiation
and self-perfection. If their heart is in the right place, they know that the
gate to knowledge and perfection is open to all. Everyone has the choice to
enter. Every person carries within them a divine imprint, a universal self,
which means everyone has the potential to reflect perfection and the purity of
the childlike soul to some degree. If the inner person’s heart is pure, the
obstacles in their life will not trouble them.
3. Peaceful: They know that inner peace is fulfilment and universality,
and therefore, it can easily be shared with others. They understand that they
must be able to turn bad into good and not assume the worst in others. The
restless, evil-minded person never lets others rest, always troubled by some
suspicion or dissatisfaction. They often say things they shouldn’t and fail to
do what they should. They focus on others’ duties rather than their own. The
inner person must first set things right within themselves before they concern
themselves with others. If they wish to be accepted, they must first accept
others. If they are far from love and peace, they should look within, because
peace and humility never look at others with anger. It’s not hard to live
peacefully with gentle, peaceful people who accept each other’s nature and joy
4. Moderate and humble: The inner person does not spend much time
worrying about who is with them or against them. They focus on choosing the
golden path and listen to their inner voice—the universal self that comes from
the One. They know that if their conscience is clear and they seek help from
the One, evil cannot creep near them. If they are patient and listen, help will
come. But help will not knock on the door or speak out; it must be read from
the signs. It is not true that when one asks for help, they will receive it
immediately. They must be patient and wait for it to arrive. They must grow in
humility to recognize their faults.
5. Avoids fallibility, deviation, and ignorance: The inner person knows
that every human born to earth can lose their way, no matter who they are, and
that includes them. But they also know that they can regulate the dominance of
their individual self or the rule of their universal self. They understand that
through carelessness, fallibility, or arrogance, they can quickly lose what
they have long received through grace from the One. Many complain that they
have not succeeded in this or that. But who gets always everything they desire?
6. Contemplates and meditates: The inner person seeks the right time to reflect on their actions and to think repeatedly about how to perfect them on the path that leads back to the One. They abandon what drives them from mere curiosity or excitement. They seek what not only occupies them but leads them to immerse within themselves. By keeping aside from unnecessary speech, fruitless running around, listening to daily news or information, or engaging in others' long-winded conversations, they create space for contemplation on the love that flows from the One, on life, existence, transcendence, and other meaningful topics.
